Dimensions in cm:33 x 41 Price on collection from studio: £140.00 Year made: 2010. .About the work: Sometimes I am at a loose end and come across something for some reason I want to paint, I came across a black and white photo in the Telegraph about the merits or not of government intervention in the recent financial crisis and Maggie Louise was effected by the depression in the 1930s a young girl of ten who grew up to work in the cotton fields because the industry was supported by the US government with the best of intentions which meant that cotton workers continued to work in low paid jobs and struggle financially. Maggie Louise had ambitions to be a teacher at the age of ten when this photograph was taken but had to work from an early age in the cotton fields to help support her family and when eventually she married and saw her own children having to do the same thing in sometime in her 40's she bought a bottle of rat poison went into an outbuilding drank it and took her life. The work is supplied without a frame. Packaging and delivery charges (additional to purchase price) :
