Twelve Bar Blues is and exploration of visualisation within the mind. What makes music musical are not the notes but the fractions between them, the brain recognizes these fractions audibly and we enjoy the music. I was curious to find out if the brain recognized the same fractions visually. Using the fractions for the modern Western harmonic scale, I altered one colour by the fractions required to create a musical scale, and using the notes from a basic left hand twelve bar blues sequence created the piece twelve bar blues. For research a concluded a couple of small scale visual tests with the chord of C-major created in blocks of four colours and altered it slightly four times so that I had a panel with one visual C-major and four discordant C-majors. In both cases more than 50% picked out the correct C-major, but with the other responses the percentages diminished the more discordant the chords.
